Cheerful!

My favorite of the ones I made.
Supplies:
- Dollar store fake flowers
- Various hair clips
- Needle and thread
- Krazy glue
Technique:
Initially we tried just gluing the flowers to the barrettes, but it wasn’t very secure. Instead we actually sewed the flowers to the clips, passing the needle though the plastic base of the blooms. We then added a few dollops of glue for good measure.
Expert tip: Wait for the glue to dry before putting the clip in your hair. Trust me.
I believe Kay got the idea from Katie, so kudos to her!

I felt really cute the other night so I decided to take a WhatIWore-style picture… is that so wrong?!
Dress: Buffalo Exchange… I bought it 2 years ago and then never wore it because it’s sort of shapeless in the waist region. But, then one day I looked at it and thought…
Belt! F21
Boots: Steve Madden
Purse: That one resale shop on Hawthorne? Um, you know, the new one? Where Jackpot used to be?
Shades: They say “DG” on the side so let’s say Dolce & Gabbana. Even though they were $10… Ha.
I’ve been feeling at a loss when it comes to what to wear lately. This is basically the only outfit I have for this summer that I really love. I need to do something about this situation.

I love old pictures.

Today I brought leftovers for lunch. Whenever I bring homemade leftovers for lunch I end up wanting to eat them at like 10:30. I can’t stop thinking about them!
Today I held out til 11:35. It was tough.

So, I borrowed my mom’s sewing machine and promptly hemmed up this skirt I bought at Goodwill awhile back. It had a lot of potential but an unfortunate mid-shin hem.
As it turns out, I didn’t really remember how to use the sewing machine. See that big knotty mess? That’s on the outside of the skirt. I’m hoping people will think I intentionally went for an edgy, deconstructed look.
